Hamidou Koumaré is a Malian sculptor, a graduate of the National Institute of Arts and the Conservatory of Arts and Multimedia Trades Balla Fasseké Kouyaté in Bamako, where he now teaches sculpture.
His artistic calling comes mainly from his father, Mamadou Koumaré, a renowned sculptor and the creator of several landmark monuments in Mali’s capital, including a stele dedicated to the illustrious writer and cultural figure Amadou Hampaté Bâ.
